Men’s Rally Reminds Catholic Men They Are “United in Christ”

(March 3, 2010) Many men approach their relationship with God as if they are alone on a spiritual island. Catholic Men for Jesus Christ (CMJC)—through its upcoming Men’s Rally and continuing efforts to promote men’s faith-sharing groups—looks to remind them that we are all “United in Christ.”

On March 6, 2010, CMJC will hold its 13th annual Men’s Rally at Trenton Catholic Academy (175 Leonard Avenue, Hamilton, NJ).  The day will begin at 9 am and will conclude at 3 pm following Mass with presider and homilist the Most Reverend John M. Smith, Bishop of the Diocese of Trenton.

“The event offers an excellent opportunity to hear inspirational speakers and interact with other men who are looking to grow in their love for Jesus and to live out their Catholic faith in their daily lives,” observed William Maher, Executive Board Member of CMJC.

Other speakers at the event will include:

•    Curtis Martin (Co-host “Crossing the Goal” on EWTN and President and Founder of FOCUS (the Fellowship of Catholic University Students))
Curtis Martin is an award winning speaker who uses humor, stories, and his own life experiences to communicate how faith in God is lived out in everyday life.
•    Fr. Joseph Celano (Diocese of Metuchen)
Rev. Joseph Celano is pastor of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church in Bridgewater, NJ, and former host of Proclaim The Good News, the award winning radio talk show of the Diocese of Metuchen.
•   George Rose (NY Yankees) and Joe Large (Mother of God Community)
George Rose, Director of Asian Operations for the New York Yankees, and Joe Large, Member of Mother of God Community, a Catholic Covenant Community in the Diocese of Trenton, will offer their testimonies as Catholic laymen.

The cost of attending is $20 per person; $10 for students. Tickets can be purchased online at  www.catholicmenforjesuschrist.org or by calling 609.896.0394.

“Attending the rally though is just the beginning,” emphasized Rev. Joseph Jakub, Executive Board Member of CMJC. “We will be encouraging men to seek out men’s faith-sharing groups in their parishes when they leave the rally. And if they can’t find a group, we’ll  be directing them to resources to help them start a men’s group in their parish. We’re all on a journey, but we’re not meant to travel it alone.”
