Chris Smith (U.S. House of Representatives)

Elected in 1980, U.S. Rep. Chris Smith (R-Hamilton, N.J.) is currently in his 19th two-year term in the U.S. House of Representatives, and serves residents of the Fourth Congressional District of New Jersey. A lifelong New Jerseyan, Congressman Smith graduated from Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey) with a degree in business administration. Prior to being elected to Congress, he helped run a small business–his family’s wholesale sporting goods corporation. He is also the former Executive Director of the New Jersey Right to Life Committee. The Congressman is married to his wife of 39 years, Marie, and they have four grown children.

Tim Staples (Catholic Apologist and Evangelist)

Tim Staples is Director of Apologetics and Evangelization for Catholic Answers in El Cajon, CA, but he was not always Catholic. Tim was raised a Southern Baptist. Although he fell away from the faith of his childhood, Tim came back to faith in Christ during his late teen years through the witness of Christian televangelists. Soon after, Tim joined the Marine Corps. During his four-year tour, he became involved in ministry with various Assemblies of God communities. Tim, however, met a Marine who really knew his faith and challenged him to study Catholicism from Catholic and historical sources. That encounter sparked a two-year search for the truth that led him to the last place he thought he would ever end up: the Catholic Church. Tim has helped thousands of people find their way home to the Catholic Church.

Marie Joseph (Executive Director, Legacy of Life Foundation)

Marie Joseph is a graduate of Cornell University with a BS in Marketing, Communications, and Spanish and a master’s degree in Theology from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. Marie taught for seven years in an elementary Catholic school. She is certified and trained in the areas of physical fitness and nutrition. Marie also has a background in theater as a director and choreographer. She has been deeply involved in Catholic mission work in Kenya, Africa. She is a single mother of two teenagers with a passion for the Catholic family and bringing others into a better understanding and knowledge of the real treasures of the Catholic Church.
